This chart turns the weekly injury report into a number for each player. Choose a team and you get every player on its report with their chance to play that week. It's built for the decisions that come up before kickoff: whether to start a Questionable player, which late-week practice pattern is a real warning, and who is almost certainly fine.
The probability follows a few simple rules:
- Ruled Out: 0%.
- No game designation on the final report: 100%. A player who practiced in some form but carries no Questionable or Doubtful tag is expected to play.
- Questionable, Doubtful, or the report is still in progress: the chance comes from history. It's the share of players with the same practice pattern (for example Limited, Limited, Limited) who went on to play. The pattern is matched to the team first. If the team's own history is too thin and the week's report is final, the league-wide history for that pattern is used.
- Vet Rest: a Did Not Participate day for veteran rest is treated as a rest day, not an injury absence.
The chart updates as the week goes on. Early in the week, with only Wednesday reported, the number is based on Wednesday's practice alone. By Friday, it uses the full week. Short weeks, such as a Thursday game, use Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
How to use it: Set the Team filter before you run it. Players are listed along the horizontal axis and the vertical axis is the chance to play, from 0 to 100.
Reading the chart:
- A player with no bar either has a true 0% (ruled Out or a pattern that has never resulted in playing) or doesn't have enough history yet.
- The sample size and a data-quality flag are in the underlying data. Treat numbers built on small samples as rough.
- This is a general guide based on historical patterns, not a prediction for any individual player. Final inactive lists come out 90 minutes before kickoff.
