How many tackles will an injured defensive back make when he returns? This chart covers every starting cornerback and safety currently missing games with an injury. For each one it compares his tackles per game before the injury with his projected tackles per game over his first 4 games back.
- Before injury: his average tackles per game (solo + assists) over his last 6 games played.
- Projected return: that baseline adjusted by how similar starting DBs actually performed in their first 4 games back. The comparison is matched by expected games missed, and by injury type when there are enough cases.
- Low / high range: the typical range of outcomes for those similar returns.
Filter by player to see one DB, or by team to see a whole secondary. The data updates as the injury report changes. Only starters are included (65%+ of defensive snaps before the injury).
Use it for IDP lineup decisions, tackle props, and spotting which returning defensive backs will be eased back in.
