When a player comes back from an injury, how often does it flare up again? Pick a position and an injury to see the share of returning players who landed back on the injury report within 8 weeks, and how many missed another game.
What you get:
- Reinjury_Within_8_Weeks_Pct: % of returns that reappeared on the injury report within 8 weeks
- Missed_Game_Again_Within_8_Weeks_Pct: % that missed at least one more game in that window
- Returns_In_Sample and a data quality flag, so you know how much to trust the number
Example: hamstrings across all positions show a 35.8% re-injury rate, and 13.3% missed another game. For WR hamstrings, the re-injury rate rises to 58.3%.
Tip: “All Positions” covers every common injury. Position-specific results only appear where there’s enough data, mainly knee, hamstring, ankle and concussion for DBs and linemen.
