This calculation returns the average ice time per game for NHL teams in the 2024-25 regular season, in minutes, counting all game situations (even strength, power play, penalty kill and other). Across all 32 teams, each of which played 82 games, the average is 60.6 minutes per game. The figure sits slightly above 60 because overtime periods add time.
Calgary logged the most at 61.0 minutes per game, followed by Vancouver at 61.0 and Philadelphia at 60.9. For context, teams averaged 49.9 minutes per game at five-on-five and 4.3 minutes per game on the power play.
Add a team filter, for example ?team=BOS, to get the figure for a single club.
